Nicole is currently dazzling audiences with her portrayal of Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical at the Savoy Theatre.
It tells the story of silent-film star Norma, who dreams of making her comeback and enlists the help of a struggling screenwriter.
As she reflected on her beginnings in The Pussycat Dolls in the accompanying interview, she began: 'Back in that era it was about women wanting to be attractive and sexy to please other people, to please men.
'The biggest difference is today, what's really sexy is women who want to please themselves. Women who want to be sexy for themselves. So, I think we've come a long way.'
She has since forged a successful solo career and recently hinted that she is working on a new album, set to be released next year.
Adding of her new material, she explained: 'It's the most honest and courageous and authentic I've ever been in music. The songs are very anthemic.
'I battle with a lot of my own demons and insecurities, so it's vital to me that all of my music has an upside to it.'
Nicole explained how she was constantly 'reinventing herself' to be 'brave and be bold,' which was one of the reasons she has taken on the character of Norma.
'That’s what I’m doing in this show. All of my fears, all of my insecurities, all of my emotions, every part of me is being exposed,' the singer continued.

Critics have raved: 'Nicole dazzles', 'Scherzinger absolutely bloody smashes,' and, simply, 'Perfection!' and last month Nicole broke down in tears as she was awarded Best Musical Performance at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards.
The star couldn't control her emotions as she took to the stage at London's swanky Claridge's Hotel to accept the honour for her showstopping turn in West End Musical Sunset Boulevard.
She had been up against A Strange Loop's Kyle Ramar Freeman, Crazy For You's Charlie Stemp and Guys & Dolls' Marisha Wallace for the award.
Nicole welled up as she revealed that her role as Norma Desmond in the atmospheric musical had helped her 'be accepted by London’s theatre community.'
Her new role marked her return to the stage, eight years after she was nominated for an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Grizabella in Cats.
